MODALITIES & EXPERIENCE

My primary current influence is a modality called Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am Level 3 trained with the IFS Institute, and I participate in various IFS consultation groups and continuous learning programs.

I have also trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) (Level 1 with Les Greenberg) and Emotion Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT) (Level 1 & 2 online with Sue Johnson and colleagues).

Prior to my training in the IFS modality, I worked at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH).  There, I used various modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness-based approaches.

In addition to working in my private practice, I occasionally co-lead psycho-educational groups with my local Family Health Team on topics including depression, anxiety, trauma, and alcohol use.

I am always deepening my skills and competence in being trauma-informed and anti-oppressive.

My lived experience is as a white, straight, able-bodied, CIS-gendered woman. I am a married mother.

My practice approach is secular and evidence-based.
